A Spoonful of Ego

Hello again. Address: http://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newCDV_74.htm

Yep. Now, this article is entitled Egos at Work, and obviously will tell the reader how to deal with people with a superiority complex in their work/school environment. All of us know someone with a superiority complex…yes that WOULD mean that they find themselves more intelligent, more important, more…insightful…than those around them. I know quite a few people with this complex.

On one side of things, I guess you could say that the person has worked hard to achieve their status. They may deserve some sort of respect that they don’t feel they are getting, and therefore they impose their insecurity onto other people. They may feel that they need others to recognize any accomplishments they have made. Frequently, they belittle the ideas and opinions of others to make others feel as inferior as they want them to feel.
Some common characteristics of a person with a superiority complex are:

  • Dominating conversations and meetings.
  • Reminding others of their superiority or excellence (real or perceived).
  • Stopping others from expressing their ideas.
  • Rewarding those who support them (and perhaps punishing those who don't).
  • Bullying, or trying to exert power they don't really have.

If you truly think about it, we all know at least one person who does this. This person may be a sibling, a teacher, a boss, and friend, a coworker, or just another student. This person may constantly tell you how much they know. Perhaps they will criticize everything you do, or consider themselves far too advanced to keep company with you.

There is a way to deal with egotistical people. Always keeping calm in discussions and being sure to not let the person ahead of you in any argument (usually by remaining calm and confident) is the best way to be sure that they aren’t having a negative effect on you. Of course, ego usually isn’t curbed by one person, so maybe it isn’t worth trying. Yeah…sucks. Perhaps you lose friends because of their superiority complex. Perhaps separations due to one person being completely self-absorbed can become evident. Whatever the situation is, you can only deal with it to your best ability and then let it be. Live and let live.

Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

It wouldn't be me if I didn't have something to say on the election. Especially given the fact that the candidate I have supported since he announced he was a Democratic candidate long long ago (alright, Sophmore year..still) has officially been name President Elect Barack Obama. Score.
Oh, yeah. The address. Here you are: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/09/us/politics/09memo.html?hp

Soooo. Remember all the OBAMA IS A TERRORIST and HE IS GOING TO TEAR DOWN THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM OF AMERICA junk we've heard a lot of lately? Yeah scratch that. Apparently these fear tactics used by politicians that sunk into the hearts of Americans really aren't important right now. Not to say that many don't believe it, because they do (cough cough Brandi), but right now all those who promoted the opinions are now quite behind the president elect.
For example, Michele Bachmann of Minnesota told Chris Matthews of MSNBC that, when it came to Mr. Obama, “I’m very concerned that he may have anti-American views.”
But there she was on Wednesday, saying she was “extremely grateful that we have an African-American who has won this year.” Ms. Bachmann, a Republican, called Mr. Obama’s victory “a tremendous signal we sent.”
Ha. Wow, lady.
And don't forget leading lady Sarah Palin herself making quite a few comments that she now seems to put behind her. Her comment on Obama hanging around terrorists seems to be nonexistent as she speaks of Obama's victory.
"Let him be able to kind of savor this moment, one, and not let the pettiness of maybe internal workings of the campaign erode any of the recognition of this historic moment that we’re in. And God bless Barack Obama and his beautiful family."
Thank you, Sarah Palin.
Can I say at least she isn't a terribly sore loser? Ha. Okay I'm done. Sorry for the personal attack, Lyndsay. I know you are Sarah Palin's counterpart.

Even Bush hailed Obama's victory. That's a shocker.
Alright anyways...
Let me just say that I am of course happy with the results. Many Democrats wanted a Dem. majority in the house, but I tend to disagree with a one party majority EVER again after the Republican majority killed us practically...you get the picture.
It's time to quit bickering over who is better and what separates us from them. Seriously. Let me close here with a quote from Joe Lieberman...

“It’s over, and it’s genuinely time to find unity and move forward behind the new president.”

Thank you, Joe. =]
So here we begin the era of Mr. Barack Obama.
If America was right OR if we drank the kool-aid we won't know for a while. So let's attempt some type of unity for some amount of time. It couldn't hurt.

You WILL be a raving lunatic! I mean it! *carves backwards L*

Haha wow...
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/24/mccain.sticker/?iref=hpmostpop

THIS is the reason I love elections. This right here.

So, if you haven't already heard the exciting news, a woman named Ashley Todd, 20 years old, from Texas, has lately come to Media Attention claiming that she was attacked by an Obama supporter and that the accused carved a backwards letter "B" into her cheek. This sounds radical, eh? Terrible! Completely insane!
Yeah that's because it isn't true.
The woman claimed that this "attacker" was a 6'4" black male wearing dark clothing and shiny shoes. He apparently beat her, demanded money, planted himself onto her chest, and carved a backwards "B" onto her cheek while saying "You will be a Barack supporter!"...all at a gas station.
Not only would this black man have been mental, but also somewhat idiotic considering the B was backwards.

Of course, once the story received too much attention, this girl came out and claimed that she made the story up while driving and thought "Hey, I have a B on my face...how did that get there? I must have done it. Well that's no good. Oooh I know..." Voila, story.
Do I need to say that she has a history of mental problems, or are you already picking up on that?
Anyhow, the McCain family contacted her family and apologized over and over again for the attack, the Obama campaign send out respects and well-wishes...and for no reason. I mean, I wish her well now, considering that she is completely out of her mind.

I'm not posting this thinking Ha, crazy McCainiacs. No, I'm just really thinking that things get out of hand. Neither of the candidates are worth this. It would have been equally ridiculous had a McCain supporter carved a "J" on some Obama campaign worker's face. I always find these things oddly interesting. I guess the sadistic side gets to me, and her mental torture from this is cracking me up.
I can see Lyndsay doing this to me, carving a flower on my face, screaming "You will worship Brandon Flowers!"
I can see most of my friends pulling a stunt similar to this, both the making it up part and the actual doing it.

Let's go carve pumpkins now.

The Man Who Sued God

Yes, you read that title correctly.
Read it for yourself, here...
http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art2008101813274726
Yep.

Okay this article has a lot of side stories that I really don't want to get into, so I'll cut to the chase. Apparently a Mr. Ernie Chambers of Nebraska has sued God for many crimes against humanity, including terrorism. Yes...he sued "God".
Now, needless to say, Chambers lost the case before it was even heard. The judge said that the defendent has no fixed address and therefore had no representation. But Chambers says that he might appeal, saying that if the judge has admitted that he believes in God, which he has, then he also must believe that he is omnipresent. He is there, He is everywhere, right? Well, with this in mind, he hopes to get..what? I don't know..what could you sue God for? That's a question to ponder.

Money? Surely not. God isn't one to dish out money, I would suppose.

I wonder what else the "Almighty" could be dragged into court for..
Hmm. Treason? Maybe. Robbery? Murder? Ha...wow. When you think about it, anyone could blame anything on God. I mean, Sarah Palin could even go in for...okay I about went too far.

Now, we all aren't necessarily aware of Ally's beliefs, and we probably don't want to be to save controversy. But this story...geez.
So many religious people really separate themselves into fair weathered friends and foul weathered friends. Either they praise when things are going well, or they pray when things are going bad. Rarely both.

Ernie Chambers is a bit of a...well...a nut I guess.
I thought I was mental. Well after that Ouija Board experience I really do think I'm quite mental, but still, Mr. Chambers reigns here.

Can we just start suing all people of authority?
That would be awesome. I mean, that's what we do best as humans, right? Blame other people for our problems? We could pull it off.

Many Shades of Mental

Address:
http://healthcare.zdnet.com/?p=1425
There.
Well well...so I'm a little late this time. It was my own fault, though...I do wish to blame Fall "Break".

The title of the article "Are there really 750 million mentally ill?" pretty much covers what I'm about to elaborate on. And to answer...YES. There are. A grand 12% of the population. But what specific mental illnesses?
This article was lacking, to say the least. It gave some numbers, some dreadfully pithy descriptions...but failed to give causes and meanings.
The illnesses we are seeing MOST common are depression, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, suicide, epilepsy, dementia, disorders due to use of alcohol, disorders due to use of illicit drugs, and mental disorders in children.
Let's be brief: Depression, drugs, and dementia.
It'll get you every time.

Another part of the study said that for every 100,000 mentally ill of means, there are only 73 workers to treat them. Bit uneven, possibly. But even worse are the poor crazies, with about 29 workers per TEN MILLION.
This isn't an obstacle that cannot be fixed, and more and more people are going into the field. No, the real tragedy is getting those who need it now fixed. Fixed....what an appropriate word.
I'm sure many of you are unaware, as many of you are painfully aware, that I intend upon going into psychology...and abnormal psychology is just my thing. You see, my odd fascination with the mentally perturbed has given me an understanding of the logic and reason of the victims.
No, I'm not insane.
-shifty eyes-

What could cause the illnesses? Family life, trauma, hereditary illnesses, drugs and more drugs, alcohol, and the infamous life crisis, along with so many more causes. Perhaps you have heard the terms neurotic and psychotic...(Oh I hope so)...and often use them with a similar meaning. There is a large difference, however, between the two. Neurotic means that the patient is aware of their illness, and they become almost hypochondriacs in that respect. Everything in their life suddenly represents their mixed-up mentality. They may not even have something truly wrong, yet they behave and honestly feel as if they are mentally shot. Psychotics, however, are the ones that never seem to catch on. They truly have something wrong, and they don't know it. They don't even give it their attention. These are the people you will think of most commonly when introduced to insanity.
There are so very many mental illnesses in the world today. With the huge percentage we face now, and the many troubles being given to us, we can only expect more.
It is a sad existence.

Here We Go Again. No, this is NOT a Whitesnake rip-off.

This is the address. I am getting ready to put the address.
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hwK_CSpBxsNuVUEaDuOwmSSCiqGwD93IHJA81
The address.
Where you can click on the address and the address will take you to the page of the address where the address takes you to the article from that address.

While we're on the subject, can we change the subject now? Sorry. Modest Mouse shines through. Anyways, TO THE ARTICLE!
But I'm finding it a little difficult to type so this is going to take ages.
My lovely choice this week is one not so ironic and oddly bright as last week's. No, I have now went to the untouchable zone of the Sunni vs. the Shiite. Anybody watch the news, other than me? You? Good. Well perhaps you have heard about the suicide attackers striking Shiite mosques...killing 24 people. Yeahhh that's not good.

Just ending is the holy Islamic month of Ramadan. So many attacks have taken place that it is ridiculous. People are thinking, even, that the Al-Qaida in Iraq is trying to provoke Sunni-Shiite reprisal killings. Let's hear this out:
Four days before the mentioned suicide attacks, 32 people were killed and over 100 injured in attacks in the Shiite areas of Baghdad. THEN, (latest news, at least) a suicide car bomber detonated his explosives about 20 yards from a mosque in southeastern Baghdad. The blast killed 14 people. Also, a suicide bomber detonated his explosive belt as worshippers were leaving the Rasoul mosque. Using math, we can see that 24 having died total, and 14 at the first attack, 10 have died here. Even better, let's see a quote from one of the witnesses of the attack.

"Pools of blood and the smell of burned flesh were everywhere and I saw a man of about 70 bleeding and lying on the ground."

What is happening to the world?! Oh, I'm not finished. To the north, suspected Shiite militiamen gunned down six members of a Sunni family. The dead included two children, three women and a man, police said. Another woman and her small child were wounded. Revulsion? Oh for certain.

These people have no idea what they represent. People can read this article and see the violence, the newfound world-injuries, and the tragic loss of life from truly innocent people. Poor old 70 year old men caught in the line of fire, or in the explosion, just a-burnin' away. It's TERRIBLE!
Do people not see this? I know I'm not the only one who hears of these attacks and says..umm...
It's the end of the world, isn't it? Because for chrissakes there are people out there who will do anything radical to get approval and to get what they want. There are people who will kill themselves if they are told to. What in the world is wrong today? Why are people so entirely demented.
Believe it or not, I know the answers to this. I know that is the reason this article even relates to Anthropology...you know...the whole "You have to understand their culture to understand those things."
Well, my good ideology-conceiving friend (yes, I am talking to myself), I realize this. And I still refuse to think that any culture could, with good intentions, promote suicide to its followers.

Jim Jones cult, gone nation-wide.
I have managed to become angry whilst typing. And my wrist is dying so...Adios, loves.

They so had it coming.

Yeah the usual. You know...
http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE48M2VX20080923

Okay, well...it's nearing the hour of 9:00 in the evensong, so I am choosing to be somewhat lazy this week. Instead of discussing a major world issue, I have decided to act upon my latest find. I was looking around the internet, listening to opera music (no, seriously, my brother put it on the computer so I was listening to it. Don't judge me) viewing an article about the nuclear plant in North Korea, which would have made a splendid update to my previous article about Kim Jong Il, when I got bored of reading this mundane work and scrolled to the bottom to find a link that said:
15 Train Robbers Killed By Poison Gas"
That caught my attention for a very embarrassing reason. That being that I saw the word Poison and automatically thought: AH! Bret Micheals and Unskinny Bop!
Anyways.
Apparently 15 mentally retarded robbers in India thought that they were stealing diesel from a freight carriage. Let me reinforce this: Their attempt was to steal oil, okay?
I'm saying this because people have complained lately about me not making things clear. They should join the dead robbers.
Anyways...the robbers broke open the wrong tank and inhaled LOADS of poison gas. Police arrived upon the scene and found the empty drums they intended on loading the oil into. The people were just laying along the tracks, taking a dirt nap. Kind of sad, really, no? No. Kind of funny actually. I laughed. Stupid robbers.
Okay..they are THEIVES. They are attempting to steal oil from a TRAIN. Isn't it only fair to say they had it coming? It's like the gods were watching and thinking...oh so you wanna do it that way, huh? Hey Satan, turn that oil into poison gas. They'll never expect it. OH that was nice. Haha. Look at 'em fall. Wooo that was a good one.
Moral of that little anecdote: They deserved it.
Ooh to add: The train was earlier stopped by armed people who police believe were members of a gang which frequently steals crude oil from trains and pipelines. How lovely. I'm glad this train is making it through it all.

You know, I always considered train robbers to be a thing of the nineteenth century. But I guess people do what they have to do. New information: People still rob from trains. IS THAT CLEAR?!
Okay so I'm a little angry while writing this, my bad.

But I do have to ask one thing. Apparently this train WAS carrying oil. Why on earth was there a tank of poison gas on there? Where was this gas going to go? I'm concerned now.

I'm telling you. Just let me take over. I promise, I will only use poison gas when you criticize my writing style. =]

BLAST YOU, CHINA!

You know the drill. Here's the site.
See it for yourself if you don't trust my analysis.
http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2008/s2367703.htm

Milk powder simply isn't the most interesting thing in the world. Believe me, I know this. BUT you would be surprised at how terrible this crisis is.
In China, CHINA, the milk from top companies is contaminated. Yes, the milk that BABIES are drinking.
Read this quote from the article and see if you see the same key word that I do:
"More than 6000 babies are sick, three have died and 150 have serious kidney failure after drinking milk powder that had been deliberately contaminated with melamine, a toxic substance used in plastics."
Deliberately? Ohhhh Jesus. So the Chinese company...San Lu, I think it was...is supposedly the "name brand" over there. San Lu and 21 other companies are getting this melamine into their milk, then giving it to COUNTLESS babies. That makes me sick, personally. Now parents are gathering outside of hospitals to get their babies checked.
You know what the problem is? They don't check for it. The report said that there wasn't ONE company over there that scanned their milk for melamine. Not one! It also apparently took a lot of pushing for them to even recall the milk. I mean, it was deliberate, apparently, so why would they?
Ohhh China makes me so mad sometimes. Like their 8 year-old "16-year-old gymnists". And of course the poisoning of everything made over there. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, CHINA?! I mean, you have made 6,244 babies sick already, and that number is expected to climb significantly. I don't know what's more depressing--China contaminating the children or the fact that nothing in China can be trusted.
Did I even gain anything from this article? OTHER than disdain, of course...? Decidedly not. I did, however, learn that nothing will ever make me want to be involved with Chinese-oriented subjects.

Why am I so angry over this? I don't know. All the sick babies...yeahh...but that's not it. I think certain things are just getting on my nerves, and China is definitely one of them.
So wanna hear my plan? For those of you who read my last blog, you know that my goal is to take over North Korea after Kim Jong Il gives up the ghost. I've been thinking, you know...with enough power behind me, I might as well conquer Asia. China's been sucking it up lately. North Korea's going a little insane. Those are two pretty major areas. Of course, I would have to conquer LOADS more, but think about it...I would then have control over Russia and the Middle East. NOT TO MENTION India to add to my enemy China, the two most populated nations in the world.
I find myself adequate for world domination. Yep.
For serious.

God save the dictator!

Thank you Assosciated Press, for releasing this article.
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5huSr2cto6oXklRH0nXdM8i7PEQ0wD933E3GO0

Well, what do you know? Kim Jong Il, the...erm...unpredictable dictator of North Korea is supposedly quite ill. This is, of course, according to U.S. officials, and not necessarily for certain...but as this week herald's the 60th anniversary of North Korea becoming a nation under the rule of KJI's father, KJI didn't show. Yeah. No show.
He was there for 50 yrs. and 55 yrs. but not 60. =D Apparently, his last reported public appearance was in MID AUGUST. Gooo K.J.!
There is even reason to believe that Mr. Kim has suffered a stroke or some other major setback.

This is far more crucial than life observation with crazy dictators that have issues enunciating their L's. North Korea...Kim Jong Il...anything else come to mind? Ah yes. THE NUCLEAR WEAPON TESTING PROGRAM. Yongbyon...yes. What does this poor health contribute to the program? It HAS been delayed..has been set back...and this lack of preparations prove that the authority once weilded by KJI is not so prominent now that his heart blew out like an old tire.
So what if Kim doesn't make it? Dies. Demises. Expires. Perishes. Drops. Succumbs. Bites the dust. Breathes his last. Deceases. Cashes in. Gives up the ghost. Goes to his grave. Departs. Kicks the bucket. Passes on to the Great Beyond. Turns up his toes.
No worries.
According to the article, "Intelligence officials note that one of several family members or senior military officials might step in if Kim were incapacitated."
That's one I forgot. Incapacitated.
Does anybody care if KJI dies? OF COURSE THEY DO! This man has been a majorrrr figure in today's world. One of the stereotypical brilliant dictators. Jesus, people. I'm almost afraid that some people didn't even know about the nuclear weapon's program. I knew that beforehand, as most people who watch the news oh I don't know...once every 2 decades or so should know. I didn't know that KJI was ill. Oh, heavens. Okay, not that I feel pity or anything. But still...this is like when Fidel Castro was dying. He'd been around for how long? Yeah. And he was PSYCHO CONTROL FREAK. As is Kimmy J. So really...I'm kind of anxiously waiting to see what will happen if KJI dies or becomes so severely ill (haha...ill...haha) that he can no longer watch his nation.

I think I should take over North Korea. Ask and I'll tell you my plan as female-dictator.

It's Haiti. Who seems to care?

Yes. It is about 9:30 (p.m. mind you) and I am barely managing to complete all of my homework before the overdosage of Tylenol settles in and I fall into some type of coma-like sleep, likely to occur in approximately an hour and a half.
So here is my blasted article of the week.

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gDm7lRAjdXWzCH-GDsdZvbReCqCAD9308AVG0

Actually I felt some intense pity for the people of Haiti. Hurricane Hanna hit, ohhh, half a week or so ago. DEVASTATION, MY FRIEND! As a general statement, Hanna hovered over Haiti for about 4 days, dumping a load on the poor island. Tons of rain, mud is everywhere, trees are down, houses are flooded, there is no food, water, or shelter, 61 people are dead, and what are the U.N. troops doing?
Well let me relate one story in this article. The trucks, with the food and water and clothing that these people are in DIRE need of, met a bit of a gap in the road. Instead of finding any way to cross the gap or to even manage to get the supplies across the gap to the starving children, the trucks merely turned around. I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time. =/
The audience would have to be those people with some sort of pity for people that have lost everything...and I mean everything, in this hurricane. Any person with sympathy of any kind can feel some sorrow for these people that have lost family, left their children orphans, and suffered a type of Hurricane Katrina..the devastatingly poorer version. This article brings out that human compassion hidden somewhere inside of me. It really got to me when one prolific man stated: "If they don't have food, it can be dangerous." Well, good call, sir. I suppose you're right. I never thought about it that way. It must be some type of trouble to go without FOOD OR WATER! Okay, if they are going to cover this story, shouldn't they at least quote people with some sense of what is going on. I mean, I knew nothing about this beforehand other than the fact that Haiti was in the path of Hanna. I really hadn't watched the news in too long. Oh except for Faux News at my sister's and considering they don't tend to tell us too much about the lives of lesser people (I'm kidding, don't attack) I was left somewhat unaware. But even I could have provided that much input in this article as the wise man who said that without food it could be dangerous. That almost makes me want to hit someone. Journalists these days. We need new ones.
But not focusing on what I was ignorant of, I am more interested in what I learned. Yes, friends, I learned. Learrrnnnneeeddd. One: 250,000 people have been affected. Did you read that? That many. My Jesus that's remarkable. 250,000 people left helpless...or near it.
Also: Okay, I get it. The trucks aren't going to make it. I don't think the air has blocking gaps in the middle though, with rivers running through. So can't we take a nice helicopter over the rifts and at least give them something?! Also intriguing: The local Roman Catholic Church has turned into some sort of a de facto refugee camp.
It makes me rather sad, really. People are just hangin' out on the pews all day. Some are just...standing around. A few women had some little Haitian babies in there. And what do they have? No way of getting supplies.
My question for pondering...
What on EARTH is keeping them from trying every possible tactic to get these people fed and taken care of? Orphans? ORPHANS?! I mean...come on. Help the little ones out.

Ah. It ticks me off.
So, that's my passionate rant on world-happenings. Adios, poppets.

Hindu v. Christian: The Final Showdown. =]

Okayyy...to see the article here is the extra splendid address:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/29/world/asia/29india.html?em

Woo.

So here goes, pumpkin.

In this lovely article, or not so lovely, we see the terrible clashings of two entirely different religions. Recently, a Hindu leader in India was killed, along with four of his followers. The Hindus had reason to believe that Christians were behind the work (due to prior episodes of violence between the two), while police believed that Maoist rebels were behind the dubious deeds. Yet, the Hindus following the fallen leader took revenge wildly against Christians in the vicinity. Many have been killed, and over 1,000 Christian homes have been set on fire, leaving over 5,000 homeless. In response, many Hindus have also been attacked, spurring even more acts of violence. To protest, more than 40,000 Christian educational centers across India will be closed. Now, the audience of this article is obviously those individuals interested in either all world happenings, or maybe those who are intrigued by religious condemnation. The Hindus versus the Christians..that is one interesting topic. For me, personally, I was interested in this article because simply I am interested in religious clashes. I am not over here going "Woo! Go Christians!" or "Woo! Be Hindu!". No. I am just...learning more every day, I guess. Because honestly, I knew nothing about this whole scenario before. I mean, it would be ignorant to not think that there is some type of Hindu vs. Christian violence going on in *INDIA*. But still, of this latest offset of events, I was entirely ignorant. So I learned much from the dear NY Times article. Such as the leader that was shot down was in fact Laxmanananda Saraswati . No, I have no idea who that is. But it was interesting to know. Also, along with the Christian homes being burnt, small chapels and churches are also being maniacally torched. AND! The Pope, yes Benedict XVI himself, condemned the act in his weekly address at the Vatican. Now, one thing left unanswered for me: Where are these thousands of people left homeless going to go? Are they just going to remain homeless? Countless Hindus and Christians suddenly shifted into being nomads? That isn't fair. They need some type of shelter..preferably a fire-proof one.

Analysis: Biden pick shows lack of confidence

So Obama picked Joe Biden for his running mate. If you didn't know this, for goodness sake people...watch the news. The article chosen expresses a concern that Obama's choice is his way of making up for his lack of experience. Because as we all know, or should know, Biden has been in office longer than half the population has been alive.
Righto. The questions next.
1. I've pretty much answered this already, but for conformity's sake, the article is about Barack Obama's choice of Joe Biden for his running mate. The analysis is showing that Obama is thought to have chosen Biden because of his years of experience, the area Obama is most criticized for lacking in. Yet Biden is also an expert in national defense, something else critics have harped on.

2. The audience is unfortunately media along with the general "political" public. We all know things like this go straight to the media. And this form of media is only leading to further, more exaggerated forms of media. -Sigh-.

3. The Interest in this article stems from my total support of Barack Obama and my concern with whom he chooses as his VP. Pretty simple to understand, I would think.

4. I knew that Biden had been chosen early this Saturday morning. I was actually half asleep when I learned it, so I ventured this morning to learn what critics were saying. Voila. Article.

5. Learned:
-Hillary Rodham Clinton didn't even make his short list. This kind of makes me happy. Considering the fact that the two together would make a very unhappy duo, I think she should definitely have been left out. As she was. :)
-I actually wasn't aware of Biden's experience with National Security. That's pretty sweet. haha.
-Controverrrrrrssyyyyyy.....Biden isn't exactly a change agent. I mean, he's been there for ages. So, if Obama is all about change...and Biden isn't the best for that particular scene..-gasp-. We just have to watch it unfold, I suppose.

6. My question: If it is known that Clinton didn't make the short list...who did? What were his options? Or was Biden some type of Hobson's choice or something?

There you are, kitten.
I am expecting some major criticism coming from you on this one Brandi. Talking about his inadequacy and other character flaws...yep.
Well, let's get this over with...

My Meticulous Existence

-Ahem-

'Ello, all. I suppose to start this whole blog thing off with a bang, I am supposed to tell all about myself, which thankfully I am very good at. Well, that depends on what aspect of myself. For example, I can tell you all about the decisions I make, but I can't tell you how I make them. Honestly, I'm not so sure half the time why I do what I do. But I suppose that would be the same for everyone.

So, "3 random facts" I believe was the requirement. Excuse me while I ridiculously exceed that number.

I have a major obsession with coffee. No human on earth should drink as much coffee as I do. It's actually not the safest thing for me to do, but somehow I am unstoppable near the smell. I guess if I was a miserable drug addict, this would be my drug of choice.

Next: I'm a tragic geek. In every way possible. For example: For fun, I accompany my brother to the college library. Yeah. Reading ridiculous amounts, writing fits, taking at-home courses...I have no hope in life. But I enjoy it and I guess that's all that matters.

Also, I'm authoritative. I don't mean to be, but I can't stand when things aren't going the way they should. Hence the reason my mind is so screwed up. I don't mean bossy, not that I'm never that way, but I mean more....a perfectionist. I feel the need to make sure that my opinion is expressed and contemplated. Don't get me wrong; I don't go home and cry if I don't get my way. I just mean that if things are going steadily chaotic, I want to help. And by helping, I untentionally turn into some type of control-freak.
Oh well. :]

Next, and it doesn't take much to figure this out: I'm a music freak.
No way around it. I listen to music at every opportunity I have. I don't turn all psycho and restrict myself to one type of music. Oh no, I listen to a little bit of everything. Except country and rap because I don't think anybody in their right mind can stand either of them any more. But by anything I mean anything worth listening to and interpreting. I learned to play guitar and some piano, although I would call myself an expert on neither.

Umm, I suppose it would be suitable to mention my life goals, eh? After high school I have every intention on majoring in psychology. Clinical psychology, to be more precise. I do intend upon receiving my PhD in the subject, which will take ages, I know. But, I'm a very dedicated person.

Haha. I have a mentally retarded cat. That just ran through my mind as something you should know. And I'm serious. He has a brain legion. It's sad, kind of. His name is Phillip. =]

One major thing about me that only people who are close to me would know: I prefer to live in a fictional world. I oftentimes (okay, more than not) hate the real world. Who doesn't? It's not a very lively and fun-filled place. So whether I am forcing myself into a world in a novel or into some place in my own imagination, I usually retreat. I suppose it helps to deal with the stress, and it works, thankfully. But the issue: I develop unrealistic goals. I mean...fictional world made up of fictional characters...where does that leave the characters from the real world? So I push them out and rely on my fictional life to get me through. Pathetic, I know, but it is merely a way to cope. Everyone has their quirks, I would assume.

Also, anyone that knows me knows one thing specifically: I loooovvvveeee to argue. To take two (or more) conflicting ideas and put them head to head. Seriously. For one thing, I defend my argument to the death, but I am NOT naive enough to believe that my opinion is infallible. I'm not haughty, I'm not arrogant, and I'm not pompous. I just love to defend my opinions. First off, there are so many people that will argue that they are right, no way around it. They know. NOBODY KNOWS! That's just my point. It is impossible to know anything! Seriously, we could be living in some type of bubble surrounded by thousands of other bubbles. Okay, sorry. This one is getting off subject. Point is: I love to argue with people that think their argument is infallible. It makes me feel accomplished when I prove a point that they can't argue against. =] I know. Sadistic, eh?

So, I'm pretty sure whoever is reading this is really tired of hearing me go on about myself for ages. So let me sum the rest of myself up really quick:
I'm a melodramatic, easily-offended, highly irratible, persnickety, techo-loving, attention-seeking, teenage, entirely resourceful, travel-loving, sometimes obnoxious, random, eccentric, easily obsessed, entertaining, and woefully manic high school basket case.

Adios.
