Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

It wouldn't be me if I didn't have something to say on the election. Especially given the fact that the candidate I have supported since he announced he was a Democratic candidate long long ago (alright, Sophmore year..still) has officially been name President Elect Barack Obama. Score.
Oh, yeah. The address. Here you are: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/09/us/politics/09memo.html?hp

Soooo. Remember all the OBAMA IS A TERRORIST and HE IS GOING TO TEAR DOWN THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM OF AMERICA junk we've heard a lot of lately? Yeah scratch that. Apparently these fear tactics used by politicians that sunk into the hearts of Americans really aren't important right now. Not to say that many don't believe it, because they do (cough cough Brandi), but right now all those who promoted the opinions are now quite behind the president elect.
For example, Michele Bachmann of Minnesota told Chris Matthews of MSNBC that, when it came to Mr. Obama, “I’m very concerned that he may have anti-American views.”
But there she was on Wednesday, saying she was “extremely grateful that we have an African-American who has won this year.” Ms. Bachmann, a Republican, called Mr. Obama’s victory “a tremendous signal we sent.”
Ha. Wow, lady.
And don't forget leading lady Sarah Palin herself making quite a few comments that she now seems to put behind her. Her comment on Obama hanging around terrorists seems to be nonexistent as she speaks of Obama's victory.
"Let him be able to kind of savor this moment, one, and not let the pettiness of maybe internal workings of the campaign erode any of the recognition of this historic moment that we’re in. And God bless Barack Obama and his beautiful family."
Thank you, Sarah Palin.
Can I say at least she isn't a terribly sore loser? Ha. Okay I'm done. Sorry for the personal attack, Lyndsay. I know you are Sarah Palin's counterpart.

Even Bush hailed Obama's victory. That's a shocker.
Alright anyways...
Let me just say that I am of course happy with the results. Many Democrats wanted a Dem. majority in the house, but I tend to disagree with a one party majority EVER again after the Republican majority killed us practically...you get the picture.
It's time to quit bickering over who is better and what separates us from them. Seriously. Let me close here with a quote from Joe Lieberman...

“It’s over, and it’s genuinely time to find unity and move forward behind the new president.”

Thank you, Joe. =]
So here we begin the era of Mr. Barack Obama.
If America was right OR if we drank the kool-aid we won't know for a while. So let's attempt some type of unity for some amount of time. It couldn't hurt.

Aww, that was so sweet. Sarah Palin was probably forced to say what she said. I'm starting to think that she was a robot created solely to be manipulated by McCain and his campaign. Anyway it's all over now so it doesn't really matter. I don't drink kool-aid, I think it's icky.
